What is a facade? What is essence? MCJ explores these questions in Fiction Facade as they relate to the human soul and its relation to other souls. In an attempt to bridge the gap between essence and accidents, or appearances, we as humans find meaning in being truly authentic, living out our true identity, rather than the ultimately fruitless search for that identity and meaning in the ones we project to others. Using ‘perception reliefs’ and ‘projection screens’ we often hide our true selves. Only through an honest, vulnerable admission of our pride can we find real humility, the kind with staying power that heals and enables real relationship with self and others.
