Thanksgiving was very restful and we spent a lot of quality time with the family. It was fun to relax and watch the kids run around. They really are growing up fast.
I’m slowly learning how to balance the different family dynamics whenever we get together with extended family. I often feel like I am in the middle of two extremes of social interaction. I think both are ok, but it does take some work attending to both kinds, that is, the introverted/reserved and the extroverted/forward personality types.
I got a half-marathon at the Mountain in early in the morning before the party began so I think that helped center me a lot for the rest of the day which involved a lot of social interaction. I know I’ve said it before, but the solitude I find running by myself in the woods is truly sublime.
